Australia is in recession as economy reels from coronavirus and bushfires: Treasurer Josh Frydenberg According to the Australia Bureau of Statistics, Gross domestic product (GDP) grew just 1.4 percent in the 12 months to March 31 as the economy took a hit from the bushfires and the beginning of the coronavirus crisis.
